The end of the year means different things for each of us. For some, it’s a time of joy and celebration. For others, it’s been a season of endurance and quiet strength.
For me, this year hasn’t been easy. But through every challenge, I am deeply grateful for my God, my Rock and my Saviour. Jesus has been my steady anchor, my source of peace, and the One who has carried me through. I’ve felt His presence at the table He’s prepared for me, a table covered with grace, mercy, and calm in the midst of life’s storms.
Now, as the year winds down, I find that reflecting on the year is a valuable practice for personal and spiritual growth. If you’d like to take some time to pause and reflect, here are a few steps that may help:
How to Reflect Meaningfully on Your Year
Find a quiet place – Somewhere you can think and pray without distractions.
Revisit your goals – What did you hope to achieve this year? What changed?
Note the significant moments – What events shaped your life and your faith this year?
Acknowledge relationships – Who walked with you through the highs and lows?
Celebrate the beauty – Recognise the goodness, even in small victories or quiet growth.
Thank God – For His presence, His lessons, and the way He showed up, sometimes in ways you didn’t expect.
As we look back, at both the triumphs and the trials, we can hold on to the unwavering truth that God’s plans for us are filled with hope and promise. Our breakthrough is near, and we can wait for it with hearts full of expectation.
God says:
“Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”
— Isaiah 43:19
So let’s look ahead with courage and hope.
Let’s step into a new season of abundance, peace, and joy, with Jesus at the centre of it all.
Wishing you a blessed and beautiful start to the new year.
With love and hope,
Liesl
